February 17, 2011. Skylar had a heart for Jesus and wanted to share His love with others to help 'change the world.'
It is a conference for girls 6th-12th grade. The event is to remind all young ladies to recognize their value, as special individuals who are created to have a unique and divine purpose. We want young ladies to leave this conference motivated to leave a legacy that IGNITES & INSPIRES others to be a follower of Jesus and to help 'change the world

Shelbi is the founder of the 'Ignite Your Legacy' girls conference.
Shelbi is married to Matt Korzeniewski and they have a busy home chasing their four active children. Shelbi is a full-time elementary teacher and Matt is a full-time pastor.
Shelbi is a graduate of Texas A&M University, and her love for helping children has been a passion since she was a teen. That passion was evident as she held leadership positions at church camps, camps for children facing tragedies, camps working with students with special needs, teaching VBS and DNOW as well as other faith based events.
Shelbi's ambition to change the circumstances of ALL children has led her in the field of education. She wants to ensure that a healthy, loving, and Jesus-focused environment is evident in all areas of the lives of our young people. Her passion is reflective in her professional career as a teacher, her hobbies volunteering, and certainly in her project planning for One Day Closer Ministries, where she serves as Director of Projects.
Matt plays multiple roles as part of the One Day Closer Ministries family. With many years experience as a youth pastor, current role as a dad of four children, to include 3 girls, makes his motivation for pouring into young people a priority.
‘Ignite Your Legacy’ attendees are filled with encouragement, reminded of their value, and challenged to embrace their 'Kingdom' purpose.
Worship! Talented Christian recording artists set the tone of ‘praise & worship’ throughout the event.
Speakers! The event features gifted speakers. Our presenters speak LIFE and TRUTH into the hearts of the young ladies.
Door Prizes! Food! Fun! Friendships! Fellowship!
... and most importantly ... JESUS!

Laci now serves as the Youth Director for the church and has a passion for kids and pointing them to Jesus.
When it comes to family life, Laci and her husband Hayden have three daughters, older sister Hayzlye, and twin girls Ellie and Layla. Her girls are so precious and her home looks like something out of a magazine, seriously. They love to garden and have several animals on their mini homestead and you never know what new animal her husband may bring home.
Music has been a big part of her life since Junior-High and has led worship for 10 years and loves experiencing God through singing praises to Him. We are so honored to have her radiant joy in our building every day.
We consider Laci as part of the One Day Closer ministry family. Our friend shines her voice through the airways as the afternoon host on Christian radio station KVNE, mid-day host on Lift Worship as well as on The Well in the mornings.

Becky is the founder of 'One Day Closer Ministries.' She served 25 years in the mission field called 'education.' In 2011, a family tragedy flipped her comfortable world upside down, leading to an entire 'life' make-over. A shift to include launching the outreach ministry and committing to being a full-time Christian speaker, missionary, and writer. Becky has spoken to audiences of all ages and backgrounds throughout the United States. In addition, Becky travels abroad and has shared God's word with many culturally diverse audiences, delivering the powerful message of HOPE.
Becky embraces her 25 years of experience as a high school educator by bringing messages of purpose, being different, and leaving a positive legacy, to teenagers across the miles...in schools, youth groups, and various other teen events.
While Becky spends most of her time speaking to woman's groups, she enjoys opportunities to talk to youth. ODC Ministries continues to elevate young girls to SEE their value through the same eyes as Jesus, and embrace the Kingdom purpose given to each of us.
Not all artists’ work transcends sound to emotion but for artist/songwriter Lydia Laird, she doesn’t make music any other way. Her self-titled debut EP, releasing August 2020 with accomplished producers Jordan Sapp, Jonathan Smith, Nick Schwarz, and Jeff Sojka, will not only introduce listeners to Laird’s powerful vocals but also to her willingness to be in the dark places and find hope there with anthems that honestly address the pain in life along with the power of the Gospel.
It was from a dark place that inspired Laird to write “I’ll Be Okay,” a song proclaiming truth amid uncertainty and speaks to Laird’s own experiences with depression and anxiety, mental health issues that are near to her heart. “My prayer is that my music invites others to be honest and vulnerable with God and ultimately helps them come to know the unconditional love and grace of a Savior who cares in a deeper and more personal way,” she shares.
Laird, who is number seven in a family of ten children, grew up in a Christian home in East Texas while also living in Romania as missionaries when she was young. She remembers becoming a Christian when she was just four years old and wrote her first song at nine as music became an outlet for her.
The truth of who God is and what that means for our own identity and security in Christ is one revelation Laird cites as she began her journey deeper toward the center of the true Gospel. “I’m just on the journey with them,” Laird says when asked how she hopes listeners will view her not only as an artist but a person of faith. “I’m still being sanctified. I’m still learning the Gospel every day. I want people to look at me as someone who can relate and cares, and is saying, ‘Hey, we’re in this together.’”
